Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how KoraNow (operated by KoraNow LLC) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the KoraNow app. We are the controller of your personal data and handle it in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and applicable regulations.
2. Data we collect
Account data: your email, name, phone number, city, playing position, skill level, preferred foot, play style, favourite format and — optionally — your date of birth. Activity data: your bookings, waitlists, squads, challenges and match history. Technical and security data: device type, app version, push-notification token, app usage, security-check results, IP-derived rate-limit keys and protected one-way identifiers used to prevent ban or account-abuse evasion. Consent data: your 18+ confirmation and the date and version of the terms you accepted. Location (optional): if you allow it, your device location is used only on your device to show venue distances — it is never sent to our servers.
3. How we use your data
To create and run your account; to manage bookings, waitlists and match confirmations; to show hosts and players who is attending a match; to send you match and account notifications; to keep KoraNow safe and prevent misuse; and to meet our legal obligations.
4. Our legal basis
We process your data based on your consent, to perform our agreement with you (providing the service), to meet our legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in running and securing KoraNow. You can withdraw consent at any time by closing your account.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: service providers that run KoraNow on our behalf (our cloud and database/authentication provider, our SMS-verification provider, our push-notification provider and our email provider); the host of a match you join, who may see limited details such as your name and phone number to organise the game; and authorities or advisers where we are legally required to. Other players may see your name on match and squad rosters and, within a squad you both belong to, your position and level — never your phone number or email.
6. Where your data is processed
KoraNow runs on cloud infrastructure that may process and store data outside the UAE. Where data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected to a standard consistent with UAE data protection law.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you deactivate your account, we keep your data so you can reactivate later. If you request deletion, the account is paused and removed from squads immediately, then personal data is permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period. During that period you can cancel by signing in and reactivating, but squad membership and transferred captaincy are not restored. A deletion receipt email may remain in a restricted retry queue for up to 7 days. We retain only one-way email or phone identifiers and ban timing needed to enforce an unexpired or lifetime ban, plus records required by law or needed to resolve disputes. These identifiers cannot be used to contact you and are removed when they are no longer needed, except lifetime-ban records retained for ongoing platform security.
8. Your rights
Subject to UAE law, you can request access to your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and request a copy of your data. You may also complain to the UAE Data Office. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@koranow.ae.
9. How we protect your data
We use encryption in transit, row-level database security so users can only access their own records, encrypted device storage for sign-in, and device-bound sessions with automatic expiry. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
10. Adults only
KoraNow is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date below and, for material changes, may ask you to review and accept the updated policy.
